The drawers shall be thigh length, boxer-style, with left-over-right front fly opening, a rectangular back panel, and an elastic waistband. The elastic shall be attached to the drawers with no less than 4 rows of stitching. The joining seams for the back panel and the crotch seam shall be hemmed, and there shall be a horizontal bartack at the bottom of the fly opening through all plies. The cotton thread for seaming and stitching the drawers shall conform to the requirements of type I, ticket number 50, 3-ply, and ticket number 70, 2-ply, of A-A-52094. As an alternate, a polyester-core, polyester or cotton covered thread conforming to ticket number 100, 2-ply, of A-A-50199 may be used. The color of the thread shall approximate the shade of the basic material.
As an alternate to the specified threads, a 175 denier, single-ply, textured polyester thread with a minimum breaking strength of 1.4 pounds may be used. The color of the thread shall approximate the shade of the basic material.
The elastic webbing for the waistband shall be made from heat-resistant strip compounded natural or synthetic rubber or mixture thereof, covered with 100% cotton polyester and cotton or polyester rib fabric weighing a minimum of 0.50 ounces per linear yard. The width of the finished waistband shall 1-1/4 (+ 1/16) inches. The color of the webbing shall be approximate the shade of the basic material.
3.2 Size and measurements. The finished drawer shall conform to the measurement below.
