3.3 Label. A combination identification, care and size label shall be attached on the inside center of the back elastic just below the top edge of the waistband.
3.4 Label/tag. Each item shall be individually bar-coded with a paper tag personnel clothing items. The paper tag shall be standard bleached sulfate having a basis weight of 100 pounds. The paper used for the tags shall have a smooth finish to accept thermal transfer and direct printing. The tags shall have a hole and shall be attached to each item by a fastener, clearly legible and readable by a scanner. The bar coding element shall be a 13 digit national stock number (NSN). The bar code type shall be a medium to high code density and shall be located so that it is completely visible on the item when it is folded and/or packaged as specified and so that it causes no damage to the item.
4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
4.1 The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
5.1 Certification. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial item description; conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices; and is the same item offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
5.2 Market acceptability criteria. The item offered must have been sold to the commercial market or to the government, and the contractor shall certify and provide supporting documentation as to its serviceability and the long term (five years) availability of all necessary maintenance and logistics support parts and materials.
5.3 Warranty. The item offered shall include the standard warranty given to the commercial market beginning with the date of delivery of the individual items.
1/ 1/2 Waist (relaxed). Measured from side to side along top edge of wallet.
2/ 1/2 Waistband (stretched). Measured from side to side along top edge of waist with waistband stretched taut in straight line using manual tension.
3/ Total length. Measured from top edge of waist to lower edge of leg.
4/ Front Rise. Measured from the bottom of crotch, including width of a seam, up front of drawers to top edge waist.
5/ Back Rise. Measured from bottom of crotch, including width of seam, up back of drawers to top edge of waist at center.
6/ Width Across Inseam. Measured from inside corner of one leg to other leg. Legs spread and inseam measured in straight line.
7/ Leg Bottom. Measured across leg along lower edge.
8/ Fly Opening. Measured from top of fly opening to bottom of fly opening.
9/ Thigh. Measured from bottom of scrotch seam across leg parallel to lower edge of leg to outside edge.
